The Slobbering Strongbox is an Immortal and Mythical rarity, Halloween-themed cosmetic set for Primal Beast in Dota 2, introduced in the Trove of Terror treasure. This unique cosmetic transforms the apex predator into a monstrous, living mimic chest overflowing with cursed gold.
Originating from the Trove of Terror treasure, this set embraces the collection's focus on dark fantasy, classic monsters, and eerie seasonal motifs. The Slobbering Strongbox fits perfectly into this Halloween-inspired lineup with its supernatural take on dungeon-crawling tropes. Please note that the Trove of Terror is a distinct release, meaning this reward is not a Collector’s Cache item.
Visually, the Slobbering Strongbox gives Primal Beast a bizarre, horrifying appearance. As seen in the official designs, the set introduces several transformative features:
-
The hero's main body is encased in jagged rock and a massive, shattered wooden treasure chest bursting with gold coins and glowing gems.
-
His face is reimagined as a giant, terrifying maw featuring jagged fangs, a long red tongue, and a single glowing green eye positioned on the upper jaw.
-
His massive arms feature exposed purple and pink flesh reinforced by enormous, bone-like claws protruding from the knuckles and fingertips.
-
The bundle includes custom ability icons and custom in-game effects, visually altering his abilities to match his new rocky, treasure-hoarding form.
-
The set features a matching custom courier skin a smaller, winged mimic wielding stolen weapons and a custom ward skin depicting chained, mimic-like eyes floating above piles of gold.
During matches, the Slobbering Strongbox radically alters Primal Beast’s silhouette, trading his traditional reptilian bulk for the jagged shape of a monstrous geode and chest. The bright gold coins and vivid green eye provide strong visual contrast against his dark purple flesh, ensuring his character model remains instantly recognizable from a top-down perspective. The cohesive integration of his custom effects and matching courier and ward components reinforces this thematic transformation throughout the entire game.
Set Includes:
- Slobbering Strongbox - Legs
- Slobbering Strongbox - Back
- Slobbering Strongbox - Arms

For Dota 2 players and cosmetic collectors, this set holds strong appeal due to its highly creative Halloween-themed design and dual Immortal and Mythical rarity. It offers a complete departure from Primal Beast’s standard aesthetic, making it an excellent choice for hero mains who want a truly monstrous, standout look. The inclusion of the custom mimic courier and ward skins significantly elevates its value among fans collecting Trove of Terror items.
