Team Spirit Are Three-Time TI Champions
Team Spirit have done what no Dota 2 organization had done before.
After defeating TEAM VISION 3-2 in the Grand Final of The International 2026, Team Spirit have lifted the Aegis of Champions for the third time, adding a third TI championship to their 2021 and 2023 victories.
The result makes Team Spirit the first three-time champions in The International's history, breaking the record previously shared by OG, who won back-to-back championships in 2018 and 2019.
And fittingly for a tournament that seemed determined to defy expectations at every turn, Spirit's road to the trophy was anything but straightforward.
They lost to TEAM VISION earlier in the playoff bracket, fell into the lower bracket, and then fought their way through some of the strongest teams remaining in the tournament before earning another shot at the same opponent in the Grand Final.
This time, they finished the job.
The final score: Team Spirit 3-2 TEAM VISION.
And with that, Dota 2 has its first three-time TI champions.

The Road to Team Spirit's Third Aegis
The third Aegis did not come through a clean upper-bracket run.
Team Spirit were forced to fight through the lower bracket after TEAM VISION handed them a defeat earlier in the playoffs. Rather than ending their championship campaign, however, the loss became the beginning of one of the tournament's defining runs.
Spirit eliminated Team Liquid, BoomBoys, and Team Yandex on their way back to the Grand Final.
The lower-bracket journey was particularly significant because Spirit had to repeatedly survive elimination matches against teams that were themselves capable of winning the tournament.
Then came the rematch everyone was waiting for.
TEAM VISION vs. Team Spirit - one final series for the Aegis.
This time, Spirit had the answer.
Miposhka's return makes the story even better
There was another storyline running underneath Spirit's championship campaign.
Yaroslav "Miposhka" Naidenov, who had captained the Team Spirit rosters that won TI 2021 and TI 2023, returned to the organization in a coaching role.
That meant Miposhka was once again part of a Team Spirit championship run only this time from behind the players rather than inside the five-man lineup.
After Spirit's victory, Miposhka became a three-time TI champion, joining the historic list in a different role after previously winning the Aegis twice as a player.
For Team Spirit, it was another reminder of how much of the organization's championship identity has remained connected across three different TI victories.

Team Spirit vs. TEAM VISION: A 3-2 Grand Final
The Grand Final was everything a championship series should be.
Neither team was willing to give the other control for long, and the series ultimately required all five games.
Spirit opened the series with a convincing victory, but TEAM VISION answered back in Game 2 with a marathon that pushed the series level.
Spirit regained the lead in Game 3.
VISION responded again in Game 4.
2-2.
Everything came down to one final game.
And that final game became one of the defining matches of TI 2026.

The 64-Minute Game 5 That Decided the Aegis
Game 5 lasted 64 minutes.
It was the perfect conclusion to an International that repeatedly refused to follow the script.
The deciding game swung back and forth as both teams found opportunities to take control. VISION was able to build momentum early, but Spirit refused to let the game completely escape them.
As the clock continued climbing, every death became more expensive, every buyback mattered more, and one lost team fight could end the entire tournament.
Eventually, Spirit found the opening they needed.
After a decisive sequence that left key VISION heroes unable to return to the fight, Team Spirit pushed forward and finally destroyed the Ancient.
64 minutes.
Game 5.
Team Spirit 3-2 TEAM VISION.
The third Aegis was theirs.
It was also only the fifth Grand Final in TI history to go the full five games, making the deciding match an especially memorable ending to the tournament.

Yatoro and Collapse Make Dota 2 History
For Illya "Yatoro" Mulyarchuk and Magomed "Collapse" Khalilov, this championship means even more than another team trophy.
They are now the first players in Dota 2 history to win three Aegises of Champions.
Both players were part of Team Spirit's championship rosters at:
- TI 2021
- TI 2023
- TI 2026
That puts Yatoro and Collapse in a category of their own.
Larl also added another Aegis to his collection after winning TI 2023, while Spirit's newer members rue and not me claimed their first TI championships.
Yatoro's performance throughout the tournament was especially fitting for the occasion. The carry who had already established himself as one of the most accomplished players of his generation now has three Aegises to match that reputation.

Team Spirit Surpass OG's Two-TI Record
For years, OG's back-to-back TI victories in 2018 and 2019 represented the benchmark for multiple championships.
Team Spirit had already matched that record after winning TI 2023.
Now they have moved past it.

On the same day that the Dota 2 roster won The International, Team Spirit's Counter-Strike 2 roster also won the Esports World Cup 2026, defeating FUT Esports 3-1 in the Grand Final.
That means Team Spirit ended August 23 with major championship victories in both Dota 2 and CS2.
The CS2 roster's EWC victory, combined with the Dota 2 team's third Aegis, makes the day one of the most extraordinary in the organization's history.
It also adds an interesting dimension to Spirit's legacy.
The organization isn't simply building a dynasty around one game. Its competitive identity has expanded across esports, with championship-level rosters capable of competing at the highest level in multiple titles.
For Dota 2 fans, however, the third Aegis remains the centerpiece.

TI 2026 Was Also a Celebration of Dota 2's Cosmetic History
For a Collector's Cache-focused Dota 2 community, one of the most interesting parts of TI 2026 wasn't just who won the Aegis.
It was also what the pros were wearing.

The Master of the Searing Path was arguably the most noticeable Collector's Cache set featured throughout TI 2026.
Originally released as part of The International 10 Collector's Cache II in 2020, the set completely transformed Ember Spirit's appearance while retaining the hero's unmistakable fiery identity.
Its continued popularity isn't difficult to understand.
The design has aged exceptionally well, and its combination of fiery effects, distinctive armor and overall silhouette still gives Ember Spirit an imposing presence in-game.
Seeing it used by professionals at TI 2026 only reinforced what collectors have known for years: Master of the Searing Path remains one of Ember Spirit's definitive Cache sets.
Until something truly better comes along, it will be difficult for newer Ember Spirit cosmetics to make it feel outdated.

No New Hero Announcement, But Crimson Witness Returned
TI 2026 did not end with a surprise new hero announcement or a major new wave of in-game cosmetic releases.
Instead, one of the notable collectible releases surrounding the event was the Treasure of the Crimson Witness 2026.
Valve introduced five Crimson Witness Immortals for Sniper, Windranger, Beastmaster, Puck and Silencer, continuing one of The International's longest-running collectible traditions.

For collectors, it was a fitting addition to an International where older cosmetics also received plenty of attention.

TI 2026 Broke More Than One Prediction
If there is one thing TI 2026 taught us, it's that predicting The International is becoming increasingly difficult.
Even Team Spirit's eventual championship run didn't look inevitable.
They fell to the lower bracket.
They had to eliminate multiple dangerous opponents.
They had to defeat TEAM VISION twice, once to survive the Grand Final and once to claim the trophy.
And then they had to win a 64-minute Game 5 to become three-time champions.
The unpredictability even followed the players onto the stage.
After winning his third Aegis, Yatoro joked about his Compendium prediction percentile, saying he had ended up around the 55th percentile and asking IceFrog for the purple Drow Ranger Immortal after losing his predictions.
That moment quickly became another part of the TI 2026 story, with fans calling for Valve to give Yatoro the coveted Drow Ranger Immortal.
It's almost perfect symbolism for this year's International:
Even a three-time TI champion couldn't predict it correctly.

Final Thoughts
Team Spirit's victory at TI 2026 isn't simply another championship added to an already impressive résumé.
It changes the record book.
Three Aegises.
Three championships.
The first organization to reach the milestone.
And for Yatoro and Collapse, three championships together across the same three TI-winning rosters.
The road there was anything but predictable. Spirit had to fight through the lower bracket, survive multiple elimination series, return to face the team that had already beaten them, and then endure a five-game Grand Final that ended with a 64-minute battle for the Aegis.
That's what makes this TI particularly memorable.
It wasn't just about the team that won.
It was about how difficult it was to predict who would win at all.
And perhaps nobody summed that up better than Yatoro himself after lifting his third Aegis already talking about a prediction percentile in the lower half and jokingly asking for the Drow Ranger Immortal he missed.
For Team Spirit, however, the prediction results don't matter anymore.
The Aegis does.
And for the first time in Dota 2 history, three of them belong to the same organization.
